Two Nebraska wrestlers are headed into the quarterfinals after Thursday's opening day of the NCAA Championships in Cleveland.
Tyler Berger (157 pounds) and Isaiah White (165) both booked spots in Friday's quarterfinals with second-round wins during Thursday's evening session.
Berger, a returning All-American, advanced to the quarterfinals for the second straight year with his 2-1 decision over Wyoming's Archie Colgan in the first tiebreaker session. Berger escaped from Colgan's grasp in the first 30 seconds, and rode out the final 30 seconds for a third victory over Colgan this season. Berger won his opening match over Penn's Joe Velliquette via a 9-3 decision.
