Pitcher Marlaina Laubach limited the Huskers to two hits, and for the second straight year, the Nittany Lions eliminated Nebraska from the conference tournament.
Nebraska (24-29) finished the season with four straight losses, and will miss the NCAA Tournament for just the third time since 1995. The Huskers also finished at least five games under .500 for the first time since 1994 (21-33).
The fifth-seeded Huskers swept the regular-season series from the 12th-seeded Nittany Lions (23-32) in mid-April, and Laubach suffered two losses during that set of games. But the senior right-hander was in command Thursday. Laubach (12-11) retired the final 11 Nebraska batters, and only Kaylan Jablonski and Tristen Edwards recorded hits off of her.
