Chris Harriman is no longer a Nebraska assistant men's basketball coach, yet #AveryStrong Day, created in honor of Harriman’s 8-year-old son, lives on.
As part of the National Association of Basketball Coaches Suits and Sneakers Awareness Week, the Nebraska basketball program is having its third annual #AveryStrong Day and Bone Marrow Donor Drive on Saturday.
Avery has been battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia since he was 2. He and his mother, Cheryl, have returned to Lincoln because of better medical care and community support, while Chris is in his first year as associate head coach at New Mexico.
