The Husker quarterback situation is an unknown as of Tuesday night, with Tommy Armstrong still in a walking boot and missing practice for the second straight day.
Backup Ryker Fyfe took reps with the top-unit offense. Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf said Armstrong would get checked out further on Tuesday night.
"I think he's better," Langsdorf said. "I'm not sure how good he is. We'll know about it later. I thought Ryker came in and did some nice things today. I thought he looked good in practice and got him a lot of good work.
"At this time of year, with a guy that hasn't had as many reps, it's always good to get him some 1 reps and get him back to speed a little bit more.
