A Nebraska basketball team that wasn’t deep at the guard position to begin with, took a blow to that depth Sunday when junior guard Anton Gill went down with a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee. That knee also kept him sidelined for much of the summer conditioning and fall practice schedule. He will miss the remainder of the season.

Gill transferred to Nebraska after playing his first two seasons at Louisville. The former top 50 ranked recruit sat out last season due to transfer redshirt rules, he was expected to step in and fill the void left by departing senior Shavon Shields and graduate transfer Andrew White, III.
