Sophomore infielder Billie Andrews was named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Andrews was recognized for an outstanding weekend in the home-opening series against Wichita State and South Dakota State. Andrews hit .500 in four games with five home runs. Andrews tallied 10 RBIs, a 1.750 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage. The sophomore started all four games at shortstop and helped Nebraska to a 3-1 record in four games against 2021 NCAA Tournament teams.
The Gretna, Neb., native, homered in all four games last week and has hit a home run in five consecutive games overall.
