Lincoln, Neb. – The Nebraska baseball team (20-22) completed a weekend sweep against Nevada with its 12-5 win on Saturday afternoon at Hawks Field.
Senior right-hander Luis Alvarado, who made his 11th start of the season, allowed only two hits in 8.0 innings of work. After not allowing a hit in the first 5.0 innings, the leadoff batter in the sixth hit a single. The lone run Alvarado gave up was a solo home run in the seventh inning. He recorded three strikeouts and didn’t walk any batters.
Senior Scott Schreiber led the Husker offense with a 3-for-6 performance, which included a home run, a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.
