Nebraska pitching coach Ted Silva used the same line again and again when trying to convince Luis Alvarado to move from the outfield to the mound.
If you want to make money, Silva would say, only half-jokingly to the Nebraska outfielder, you need to pitch.
Now, with the Major League Baseball Draft underway, it looks like Silva's sales pitch will turn out to be true.
Alvarado said Monday he expects to be drafted as a pitcher sometime over the next few days. The draft began Monday with Rounds 1 and 2 and Competitive Balance Rounds A and B.
