That duo was the highlight for the Huskers during a dual against third-ranked Hawaii late Tuesday at the Ching Athletic Complex in Honolulu. Hawaii (14-3) won the dual 4-1 for its ninth consecutive victory. The match was broadcast on TV in Hawaii.
Albrecht and Maloney picked up the Huskers’ only team point by rallying for a 17-21, 25-23, 15-13 win against Hawaii’s No. 2 pair of Carly Kan and Laurel Weaver.
Nebraska’s Lauren Stivrins and Kelly Hunter also had a good match at the No. 1 spot against Hawaii on Tuesday. After getting crushed by Kaiwi Schucht and Emily Maglio 21-6 in the first set, the Huskers came back to win the second set 21-19.
