Behind 12 hits and a six-run third inning, the Husker softball team raced away from Michigan State 12-6 on Saturday at Bowlin Stadium to claim the series.

Laura Barrow and Tristen Edwards had big games at the plate during Friday's 9-6 victory. On Saturday, it was leadoff hitter Alyvia Simmons. The junior right fielder went 4-for-5 and drove in five runs.

Nebraska responded in the bottom half. Taylor Otte hit a leadoff double, and Lexey Kneib followed with a single to put runners on the corners for Simmons, who hit what would have been a home run to center field.
