One year ago, Ben Stille was coming off his redshirt year and wondering where he would fit in John Parrella’s pecking order on the defense as he and his Nebraska teammates began the process of learning Bob Diaco’s defensive system.
Fast-forward to the present day, and about the only similarities are that Stille is again a defensive lineman — he took a two-month crash course at outside linebacker during the fall — and he’s again learning a new defensive system.
Other than that, though, it’s been a year of change and development for a burgeoning leader on a Husker defense that’s looking to put one of the worst seasons in the program’s recent history in the rearview mirror and start anew under head coach Scott Frost and defensive coordinator Erik Chinander.
