247’s Brian Christopherson has confirmed that Billy Devaney is no longer Nebraska’s executive director of player personnel.
Devaney came to Lincoln in February 2016 as an adviser to Mike Riley, who he had worked with during their days with the San Diego Chargers. Devaney went on to work for the 49ers, Falcons and Rams in the NFL before turning to the college ranks. Devaney worked behind the scenes, providing advice to Riley on all aspects of the program from recruiting to staffing.
Considering how the bottom fell out under Mike Riley’s program in 2017, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he’s no longer part of the program.
