A senior linebacker from Peoria, Ariz., Dedrick Young was once a coveted high school football recruit. Many experts around the high school recruiting world thought he would stay out west to play college football. This was not to be, however, as he committed to join the Husker family in September 2014, shortly after an official visit to Lincoln for a football game.
“Out of all the other schools I visited, there was just something different about Nebraska,” Young said. “With the academic resources, overall environment at Nebraska and all the tradition it has, it just felt like home to me.
