On Christmas Night, as I watched Bad Santa and did laundry while trying to figure out what the perfect clothing is for a Yankee Stadium open-air press box, it occurred to me, after eight years of bowl-free seasons under three different head coaches and gods know how many assistants, it was time to find a reason to be grateful and give thanks for the Nebraska Cornhuskers 6-6 .500 season which gave this team a sorely needed 15 extra practices and the fans a 13th game to ride a Huskers roller coaster of emotion in what can almost be guaranteed to end as a one-score game.
