NCAA women's championship became quite popular among bettors lately. NCAA women's basketball odds are always competitive and high. A lot of bettors started to follow this league in order to make a profit. We all know that Baylor won last year’s championship and that they are current titleholders. But which schools have the most championship titles? Keep reading and find out.
3. Baylor – 3 Titles
On the third spot is Baylor, last year’s champions and current titleholders. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 NCAA women's basketball winter and spring championships were both cancelled, so Baylor is still considered as a titleholder. They won a total of 3 championships (2005, 2012, 2019), two of which were spectacular. If we look at basketball scores, last year, they had only one loss and a 31-1 record. However, that wasn't their best season. In 2012, they didn't lose a single game and had a perfect 40-0 run. It was definitely a good year for all supporters and bettors that decided to put their money where their mouth is.
2. Tennessee – 8 Titles
Tennessee won 8 titles all thanks to their coach Pat Summit. She leads this team through 38 seasons and never had a negative record in her career. Those 38 long seasons included eight titles (1987, 1989, 1991, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2007, 2008) and additional five national runner-up campaigns. She is surely one of the best coaches in NCAA history with astonishing basketball scores and records. If it wasn't for her, this school wouldn't be so successful as it is.
1. Connecticut – 11 Titles
The first place, without any doubt, goes to Connecticut. Even though Uconn hasn't won a title in 3 years, they are still the favourites to win it every year. If you follow this league regularly, you know that Huskies aren't an easy opponent, no matter how it seems. They are always on top and their gameplay is spectacular. Out of their 11 titles (1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) in total, six of them ended with a perfect score. Six undefeated seasons is surely something to talk about. On top of that, they also hold a record of 111 undefeated games that lasted for 867 days (2014-2017). During that time, the odds on this team were just too low to bet on them. However, basketball odds today are a little higher and you can once again win something while betting on the Huskies.
Notable Mentions
There are also 4 more schools that have multiple titles. Notre Dame has two titles (2001, 2018), Stanford also has two (1990, 1992), as well as Louisiana Tech (1982, 1988), and Southern California (1983, 1984). All of the schools mentioned above also have a few runner-up campaigns and they deserve to be on this list.
