The college football season has been over for nearly a month, but coaches across the country are still hard at work with National Signing Day fast approaching on Feb. 7.
As such, the CFB Daily crew is here to break down the best high school football players in the country and where they are headed. This includes all four of the teams in the college football playoff last year who are looking to separate themselves from the pack next season.
With high schoolers from across the country deciding where they are going to play ball for the next four years, which schools recruited the best talent? Penn State comes in with the 4th-best recruiting class as they were able to sign Micah Parson, the No. 5 overall player in the nation. Texas comes in at 3rd with safety Caden Sterns signing, giving the Longhorns the 19th overall player in the class. That leaves Georgia and Ohio State as the top two recruiting classes for 2018 with Georgia signing QB Justin Fields, the #1 dual-threat quarterback and the Buckeyes signing Taron Vincent, the #1 defensive tackle in the country. Kirby Smart and Urban Meyer look to take these strong classes and overthrow Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2018 season.
