Zaire can't go to most teams ND plays in 2017

Notre Dame has granted quarterback Malik Zaire his release from the school, blocking him from all but one school on the Fighting Irish's 2017 schedule.

Zaire told ESPN he learned Wednesday he was given his release, but he said he cannot transfer to teams on Notre Dame's upcoming schedule with the exception of North Carolina.

Notre Dame plays Temple, Georgia, Boston College, Michigan State, Miami of Ohio, UNC, USC, NC State, Wake Forest, Miami (Florida), Navy and Stanford in 2017.

Zaire is on track to graduate in December and will be eligible immediately next season at whichever school he chooses.
