Since Tim Tebow’s departure following the 2009 season, Florida has struggled mightily to find a “worthy” successor at quarterback. Granted, it’s hard to adequately replace a quarterback who won a Heisman (which he was nominated for three times) and two National Championships.
Still, the Gators have failed to find even sub-par play out of their quarterbacks in the post-Tebow era.
The struggle to replace Tebow started with John Brantley, then Jeff Driskel—who were both highly regarded prospects and subsequently colossal disappointments—and has now turned into a two-man race between a pair of recruits from the 2014 recruiting class.
