COLUMBUS, Ohio — One of the fixtures of Tyvis Powell's early life was his grandmother Jean babysitting him and his two older siblings while his mother Robin worked two jobs.
On one such afternoon, Grandma told Tyvis that she was thirsty. Could he grab her some water?
Tyvis was only about two years old at the time, but he was able to complete the task.
He did as he was told and came back, cup in hand. Grandma drank the water, remarking how good it tasted and how refreshingly cold it was. She asked him for more water.
