What gap? Notre Dame football players remain defiant after 30-3 playoff loss to Clemson

ARLINGTON, Texas – Even as a phalanx of college football pundits, along with much of the amateur Twitterverse, mocked third-ranked Notre Dame for its latest postseason beatdown on the national stage, the Irish themselves were amazingly defiant.

A few plays here or they, they kept saying after Saturday’s 30-3 loss to No. 2 Clemson in the Cotton Bowl semifinal, and things might have been different.

Maybe if Julian Love hadn’t missed the second quarter due to a head injury that plunged him into temporary concussion protocol.
