Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 1974 hit song “Sweet Home Alabama” is a Southern rock staple, but it’s apparently not welcome on Rocky Top.
During one of Tennessee’s spring practices, the song began playing in the background, seemingly out of nowhere, and it drew the ire of Vols’ head coach Butch Jones. Tennessee and Alabama are, of course, longtime gridiron rivals.
Once Jones heard the song, hilarity ensued. Tennessee had a camera documenting the events as they unfolded, and trust us, it’s worth your time to watch.
Apparently, the culprit was a fundraising event at the nearby baseball facility.
