Washington Huskies offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb announced that he won't be taking over as the team's head coach in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Though I wanted to be I will not be the next head coach at the University of Washington," Grubb wrote. "It would have been a dream to stay here and fight to maintain the standard that had been re-established."
Washington's previous coach, Kalen DeBoer, took over Alabama's vacant head coaching position following Nick Saban's retirement.
