There might not be any such thing as style points as far as the playoff committee is concerned. But there certainly seems to be when it comes to poll voting.
Ohio State hasn’t been earning many style points of late. The Buckeyes retain the top ranking they’ve held since the preseason in the Amway Coaches Poll, but they continue to lose first-place votes after letting yet another overmatched opponent, Maryland, hang around into the second half.
Baylor has not had any such close calls. Though the Bears’ resume to date lacks quality, they’ve been doing what highly ranked teams are supposed to do against lesser competition.
