Seven former Illinois women’s basketball players sued the university Wednesday, accusing Coach Matt Bollant and the former assistant Mike Divilbiss of violating their civil rights by creating a racially hostile environment. The players said the coaches had held segregated practices and disciplined black players more severely, among other things, since Bollant’s hiring in 2012.
