Robert Nkemdiche, a junior defensive tackle at Mississippi, was hospitalized after falling from a wall at an Atlanta hotel, the police said Sunday.
Nkemdiche, 21, apparently broke a hotel room window, walked about 15 feet, climbed over the wall and fell roughly 15 feet late Saturday, said Kim Jones, a police spokeswoman. Jones said that Nkemdiche was alert and conscious when emergency responders arrived and that he was in stable condition.
The 6-foot-4, 296-pound Nkemdiche is considered a potential first-round N.F.L. draft pick this spring. The Rebels (9-3) will begin practice Monday for their Sugar Bowl matchup against Oklahoma State (10-2).
