Florida State Athletic Director Stan Wilcox said the university would investigate the statement by the former Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston that he believed he had an understanding with an unidentified grocery store employee that led to a shoplifting incident involving crab legs last year. Wilcox said the comments were new details to the university, which will work with the N.C.A.A. to determine if a violation occurred. Winston, a top N.F.L. prospect, made the comments Tuesday on ESPN.
