The Big 12 said it would not discipline Iowa State after students stormed the basketball court Thursday night, a rush that left Randy Peterson, a columnist for The Des Moines Register, with a broken leg.
The league said Iowa State handled the postgame celebration of the 83-82 victory over Iowa consistent with the Big 12’s guidelines for sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
The league passed a measure in May allowing it to fine its members — even taking away a home game, if necessary — for failing to keep fans from storming courts or rushing fields after games.
