Spartans deny No. 7 Terps, end 3-game skid

Michigan State beat Maryland 74-65 on Saturday night thanks to some great play late in the game from senior forward Matt Costello.

Costello had 15 points and 12 rebounds in the win, joining Denzel Valentine (19 points, 13 rebounds) as Spartans with double-doubles in the huge home victory against the Terps. He delivered with a key block, rebound and two free throws in the final 17 seconds as the highlighter green-clad Spartans sealed their biggest win of the Big Ten season so far.

A win over Maryland means one big bear hug.
