The entire nation was shocked by the massacre that took place at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., on June 17. This fall, the University of South Carolina football team is paying tribute to the nine men and women who lost their lives that day.

The Gamecocks will don a helmet sticker this season as a way of recognizing the victims. The sticker features nine birds taking flight, one for each victim.

Gamecock beat writer Josh Kendall has a screen shot of it.
