With heavy flooding in Southern Louisiana causing damage to about 40,000 homes and leading to the deaths of 11 people, the University of South Carolina is stepping up efforts to provide basic necessities to the flood victims.
The state of South Carolina was itself hit hard by flooding last year, and LSU running back Leonard Fournette made an effort to help the victims, raising $101,000 by donating his jersey.
Now, the Gamecocks are looking to return the favor and help out the Tigers home state.
“LSU was so gracious to assist us in our time of need,” said USC President Harris Pastides.
