UTEP is headed to the Mountain West Conference, sources tell ESPN, with an official announcement expected by the league later on Tuesday.
UTEP, which had been in deep discussions with the Mountain West in recent days, has alerted Conference USA officials of the school's intent to leave the league, sources added.
