Louisville coach Bobby Petrino received a new seven-year worth $30.625 million to keep him with the Cardinals through 2023, sources told ESPN on Thursday.
The new seven-year deal, which averages $4.375 million per season, begins July 1, 2017, sources said.
The new contract makes Petrino the ACC's third-highest paid coach behind Florida State's Jimbo Fisher and Clemson's Dabo Swinney, who agreed to a new six-year deal Tuesday. Miami's Mark Richt makes about $4 million a year.
