TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The SEC’s 14 athletics directors will meet in Birmingham on Monday to discuss plans for the 2020 football season but numerous options remain in the discussion, including but not limited to a conference only schedule.
No decision had been reached on Friday, a person close to the situation told The Tuscaloosa News, part of the USA TODAY Network. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.
Sports Illustrated reported the athletics directors meeting first, noting that the plan to meet had been in place prior to Thursday’s move by the Big Ten to announce a conference-only schedule.
