The Mountain West Conference is reportedly in talks with Conference USA's UTEP to make the school a full-time member across all athletics.
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, the MWC and UTEP are "in deep discussions," and there is "mutual interest" in a deal from both sides, although nothing has been finalized.
The Mountain West is rebuilding on the fly after Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, Colorado State and Utah State recently all announced they are moving to the Pac-12 beginning in the 2026 season.
