Cam Ward's decision to only play the first half of Miami's 42-41 loss against Iowa State in this year's Pop-Tarts Bowl proved to be extremely controversial, at least from an outside perspective
The Hurricanes, however, knew what to expect going into the game. Bruce Feldman of The Athletic provided more insight into Ward's decision:
"From talking to sources inside the Miami program, no one was surprised that Ward didn't finish the game. The Athletic learned that Ward agreed to start the game but there was no timeline in terms of how long he would play.
