Oscar De La Hoya arrested in California on suspicion of DUI

Boxing Hall of Famer Oscar De La Hoya was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of drunk driving after being stopped for speeding, according to California Highway Patrol.

De La Hoya, chairman for Golden Boy Promotions, reportedly failed multiple field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level above 0.08. The officer who spoke to De La Hoya reported that he could smell the odor of alcohol coming from the inside the vehicle.

De La Hoya, an Olympic gold medalist and at one point the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, has battled addiction issues in recent years, entering rehab twice since 2008.
