Oregon freshman defensive back Daylen Austin has been arrested and charged in an alleged hit-and-run crash that left a 46-year-old man dead.
According to Natalie Neysa Alund and Alec Dietz of USA Today, the 19-year-old was arraigned on Wednesday on a charge of failing to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons, a Class B felony in Oregon. The crash occurred on Monday night in Eugene, and a police spokesperson said Austin was arrested at his apartment two hours after it happened.
"We are aware of the incident and are awaiting additional information," an Oregon athletics spokesperson said in an email.
