UPDATE
Oregon's athletic department released a statement Thursday morning, saying that the football program and defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt "mutually" parted ways.
"The agreement will be funded by athletics entirely from private sources and has a maximum amount of $2.5 million, payable over multiple years and subject to reduction based on future employment," the statement said. "A national search for a new UO defensive coordinator is underway."
There were reports Wednesday night that there had been a rift between head coach Mario Cristobal and Leavitt ever since former coach Willie Taggart left the program in December 2017.
