Ohio State's Elliott didn't know license suspended

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott said he wasn't aware his driver's license had been suspended, an issue that resulted in citations tied to his minor car accident before the team's departure for the BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl.

In his first public comments since the incident, the star junior said he is in the process of resolving the issue. He lost control of his vehicle and crashed at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday on his way to the seventh-ranked Buckeyes' practice facility.

"First and foremost, I wasn't aware that my license was suspended, and I mean, I'm doing everything I can now, my dad is doing everything he can now to get that handled and get my license back in good standing," Elliott said Tuesday morning.
