The hazing scandal that has rocked the Northwestern football program continues to deepen with troubling allegations, including claims that some coaches were involved.
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, members of his legal team and four former Northwestern football players made new allegations Wednesday during a press conference in Chicago.
“The abusive hazing was so entrenched in the Northwestern football culture that even some of our coaches took part in it,’’ Lloyd Yates, who played for the school from 2015 to 2017, said Wednesday. “The graphic, sexually intense behavior was well-known throughout the program.’’
The fallout led to the firing of head coach Pat Fitzgerald on July 10 and the involvement of attorneys.
