No. 6 Oregon saw its College Football Playoff hopes dashed Saturday night as the Ducks lost a stunner in the desert to unranked Arizona State 31-28.
After falling in a 17-point hole in the fourth quarter, the Ducks roared back with two quick touchdowns – both drives needed just three plays and were under a minute each – to cut their deficit to 24-21. But just when it looked like Oregon had all the momentum back, Arizona State issued a monster response.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels connected with Brandon Aiyuk on an 81-yard touchdown with the Sun Devils facing third-and-16 and their own 19-yard line with 3:54 to go.
