Nebraska fails to get first win of Scott Frost era after late meltdown against Northwestern

The wait for Nebraska and its fans has painfully been extended for another week.

After appearing on the verge of the first victory of the Scott Frost era, the Cornhuskers blew a late 10-point lead to Northwestern and fell 34-31 in overtime. Their 0-6 start is the worst beginning to a season in the program's 129-year history.

Frost, a former Nebraska quarterback, was lured back to Lincoln after a successful stint at Central Florida that included a perfect 14-0 season last year which ended with a defeat of Auburn in the Peach Bowl.

Things started imperfectly in his new job as the Cornhuskers fell to Colorado, Troy, Michigan, Purdue and Wisconsin in consecutive games.
