The NCAA FBS and FCS oversight committees have recommended eliminating the college football 15-day transfer portal period in April, per ESPN's Max Olson.
The reasoning, per the proposal, is to create more "roster stability for student-athletes and their programs."
The spring portal has been in place over the past two years. Eliminating that would leave the 30-day transfer window beginning in December.
The move is dependent on a vote of the Division I Council, which will meet in October. If approved, the change would be enacted for the 2024-25 academic year. The window would be open from Monday, Dec.
