NCAA changes First Four selection process

The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee, which we all think of as the tournament selection committee, announced a few minor, but fair tweaks to the bracketing process in an effort to create better balance in the bracket.

The first change is to determine the at-large participants in the First Four based on the seeding process instead of the selection process.

The committee selects and seeds the tournament field in separate, but similar processes. At-large teams are voted into the field four at a time in an unranked fashion. The seeding process then ranks the field 1-68, also four at a time.
