Morehead St. coach resigns after investigation

Morehead State coach Sean Woods has resigned following an investigation into physical abuse, multiple sources told ESPN.

An official announcement is expected Thursday at 4 ET.

Woods has been suspended since Nov. 22 and was charged with misdemeanor battery after two players - Malik Maitland and Soufiyane Diakite -- said in a court affidavit that they had altercations with Woods.

It wasn't the first time Woods, who played for Kentucky from 1988 to 1992, has had issues since taking the job. In 2012, in his first season with Morehead's program, he was suspended for shoving former player Devon Atkinson during a game.
