Mississippi State's Nick Weatherspoon carted off with apparent neck injury

ST. LOUIS -- Mississippi State freshman guard Nick Weatherspoon was taken from the court on a stretcher Friday night after suffering an apparent neck injury during the second half of an SEC tournament quarterfinal game against Tennessee.

Weatherspoon was taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital for further evaluation. He has movement "everywhere" and pain in his hip and his back, a Mississippi State official told ESPN, and will have a CT scan. Nick's brother Quinndary Weatherspoon and Bulldogs coach Ben Howland said they would be traveling to the hospital together.
