In what is becoming an all-too-often trend, the Miami Hurricanes didn’t allow members of the media to shoot their scrimmage on Saturday. Sure, players were allowed to be interviewed following practice … but would good is sound without highlights to go along with it?
It’s a growing problem members of the media have to deal with, but two sportscasters for a station in Miami did the best they could with what they have.
Sports director Will Manso and weekend sports anchor Clay Ferraro from WPLG-TV, the ABC affiliate in Miami, found a football inside their sports department and re-enacted the scrimmage during their Sunday night sports show:
It’s a little bit cheesy and over the top (Manso running after his co-worker was too much even for me), but it draws attention to a bigger point.
