Malik Zaire had angle surgery, hopes to return next spring

Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire broke his right ankle in the Irish’s 34-27 win over Virginia on Saturday, ending his 2015 season. Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly revealed to reporters today that Zaire has already had surgery and is back on campus.

Kelly is hopeful the southpaw could be back in action for 2016 spring practice.
