Kellen Mond’s 2-point conversion pass to Kendrick Rogers in the seventh overtime gave Texas A&M a 74-72 victory at home over No. 8 Louisiana State on Saturday night.

The 146 combined points are the most in a top-level game in N.C.A.A. history and the second-most in college football history, behind the 161 points scored in Abilene Christian’s 93-68 win over West Texas A&M in 2008.

The previous record-holder for scoring at the top level, now known as the Football Bowl Subdivision, was a 2016 game in which Pitt beat Syracuse, 76-61.
