Former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr is a final candidate for the College Football Playoff selection committee, according to multiple sources.
Carr was one of about six to eight finalists considered by the CFP management committee, which is comprised of the 10 FBS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick.
The CFP is expected to announce the four new committee members later this month.
"I can't comment at this time, but we will release the names when the time comes," executive director Bill Hancock told ESPN on Friday.
The selection committee has to replace Mike Tranghese, Pat Haden, Tom Osborne and Mike Gould, whose terms expire in February.
